Trans-Atlantic Climate Cafe with Dunkeld and Birnam

February 3, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

February 3rd @ 2:00 EST via Zoom with members of the BHPCC as well as the Collider and Asheville Sister Cities. The recent COP26 put the spotlight on Scotland, and our sister city of Dunkeld and Birnam has a history of climate engagement, having founded in 2015 the “Climate Cafe” as a means of encouraging community dialogue by providing an open and inclusive forum for people to express their thoughts on the subject.
This Dunkeld and Birnam Climate Café event will introduce the work of a local young activist, and offer their view of community priorities as we move on from COP26.  From ‘Dunkeld & Birnam Unplugged’ to ‘Cakes for Commuters’ and becoming Scotland’s first ‘Water Efficient Village’, there is much they’ll share!  After some Q&A exchange we will then hear about how the people of Asheville are creating discussions and developing solutions in response to climate change.
