Don’t miss Tartan Day on April 6, 2021, with Asheville Sister Cities, in Black Mountain.
Asheville Sister Cities, Inc. (ASCI) in partnership with their Sister Cities of Dunkeld and Birnam, Perthshire, Scotland, is sponsoring a Tartan Day Parade to celebrate National Tartan Day on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in Black Mountain. Wear your Tartan Cloth and march in the parade of Tartans with your fellow clansmen.
The parade will gather at the Town Square public park in Black Mountain at 4 pm, from which we all will parade around the park at 4:15 pm and the cross the street to the White Horse Black Mountain led by piper EJ Jones. The Parade will be reviewed by Ken Nelson, President of ASCI, with other local dignitaries and lead by Rick Lutovsky and Doug Orr, Co-Chairmen of the ASCI/D&B Committee.
EJ will lead the Parade to the White Horse, for songs and entertainment. They will be joined by our friends from Dunkeld and Birnam via Zoom. We will follow the current COVID guidelines including social distancing and masks when not at the cafe tables. Beer and wine will be available. The Tartan Day program will end at around 6:00 pm. There are a number of restaurants in the area and food may be brought into the music venue. At 7:30 pm the Piper Jones Band with EJ Jones and Frances Cunningham will perform in the White House. The cost is $18 payable at the door.
The White House Black Mountain is located at 105 Montreat Rd. in Black Mountain.
