The Asheville Sister Cities Saumur Committee will host its annual Bastille Day celebration and fundraiser on Sunday July 14, 2024 at Metro Wines latest venture, Quench! wine and food bar located in Reynolds Village (Asheville, NC). This year, you will not want to miss a special art auction and an exciting raffle prize, generously donated by recent UNCA graduate in French and local artist Adrien Meierovitch.
Eh oui . . . there will be hors d’oeuvres (Charcuterie, fromage, crudités, fruits de mer) and one glass each of a featured sparkling and red wine from Saumur, France in the Loire Valley. Tickets may be purchased below for $46 for ASCI members and $55 for non-members plus NC sales tax. We have a limited number, so snag your spot today! All proceeds will support ASCI programming and Saumur Committee projects, like educational exchange and student travel scholarships.
Speaking of . . . Saumur student Camille Hudon, recent graduate of the post-bac tourism program in Saumur, will be our guest of honor at this year’s event. You will have a chance to meet her and welcome her to Asheville. She will be on an internship exchange with us until late September. If you have contacts or leads on possible internship or job shadowing experiences for Camille related to tourism in the Asheville area, email them to committee chair Allison Weems, weems.allison@gmail.com. We hope that this project will be a catalyst for future educational and career-development projects between Asheville and Saumur. Looking forward to seeing you at Bastille Day 2024!
